About Baked Babe

Baked Babe Bread Company was founded in 2020 by Taplan Ardis during the pandemic, born out of a lifelong love of baking and a desire to explore the craft of sourdough. What began as a hobby quickly evolved into a passion for creating artisanal breads and baked goods with a focus on quality, care, and tradition.

Drawing on years of experience in the kitchen, Taplan is dedicated to using quality ingredients and locally-sourced products whenever possible, even growing Baked Babe’s herbaceous inclusions hydroponically in-house. Each loaf and treat is crafted with attention to detail, reflecting a commitment to both flavor and sustainability.

When not baking, Taplan enjoys spending time with their partner and daughter, cultivating a garden of organic vegetables, herbs, and wildflowers, and romping around Disney World and music festivals, and fundraising for Baked Babe’s Mutual Aid Fund. These experiences continue to influence the bakery’s mission of creating food that brings people together and celebrates life’s simple joys.
